Acts 17:22-31
All over, people in churches gather having no idea why. The Last Days are happening now. God’s word is being put aside in favor of man’s wisdom. God knew it would happen, that there would be a famine of hearing His word (Amos 8:11). People do not know what it means to be a part of the body of Christ. They let man’s wisdom separate them from God. There are people in churches today who do not know God and have no clue who He is nor do they know salvation.
People need repentance and to give their hearts to Him but too many do not study so they are worshipping an unknown God. They go to church but the preaching is just man’s words – secular humanism is on the rise. True repentance is not in a lot of churches because they are not told that the Spirit of God will convict you and draw you to Him. Instead, they are told that you just raise your hand and repeat a prayer which does not involve being accountable unto God.
How do you show God that you love Him and want to be part of His family and want to serve Him? People do not accept responsibility for sins they have committed. Submission and obedience to God is not found in this world today. People want to be free from their sins but want to be free also from any kind of bondage to God…yet how? Some look at false doctrines and false teachings out there and give up rather than look at scripture. There are people looking to doctrinal handbooks, conference mandates, other people’s ideas.
In Jeremiah 9:23-24 is one of the biggest pleas God makes to man. God wants us to read, study and search out His word. We need to understand and know God to have any kind of life that is blessed, that will delight Him. We need to pray, study, trust Him, obey, and submit to Him – call Him Lord. James 1:25 tell us we need God. We say that we can have freedom in Christ, in God. Through this, we can find real peace in our lives, real strength when troubled, love, mercy, loving kindness.
God says that His ways are perfect – no man can say that. But we cannot be just hearers of God’s word. God wants us to participate with Him in order to have this perfect relationship. God’s kingdom needs us. He wants us to call Him Father just as He calls us His sons and daughters. He wants that relationship with us. Hebrews 11:6 tells us we can change and learn and do what is pleasing to Him. He is faithful and caring for those who diligently seek Him. In Him, we find redemption. By loving Him, He loves us. We need to pray, study, learn discipleship, trust in Him, obey Him and humbly submit to Him.
